PASA and AASA Awards

PASA Awards of Achievement

The PASA Awards of Achievement are special recognition awards acknowledging exemplary service to public education in Pennsylvania.  PASA presents three (3) Awards of Achievement, as follows:.

Categories

Awards are granted to one individual in each of the following categories:

·         Service to the Profession: Demonstrating commitment to excellence as evidenced through notable service to the profession.  Examples of this service may include developing an effective professional development program for school district educators; demonstrating leadership in administrator preparation programs, school study councils or other professional development efforts; or promoting the education profession through research, writing or organizational service.

·         Instructional Leadership: Demonstrating commitment to excellence in teaching and learning by developing, nurturing and supporting exemplary programs that support the academic achievement of particular student populations, enrich student learning in a particular content area, or implement strategies to enhance student learning across the curriculum.
SPONSOR: Lincoln Investment Planning, Inc.

·         Leadership in Public Education: Demonstrating commitment to school administration as a profession, to public education and to one's colleagues,including participation in and leadership with the Pennsylvania Association of School Administrators.
SPONSOR: PFM/PLGIT

Eligibility

PASA members who are public school administrators in Pennsylvania are eligible for these awards.

Nominations

Individuals may self-nominate or be nominated by their peers, staff or board.  The nomination form should identify the award for which the individual is being nominated and should provide a summary of the reasons why the individual should be considered for the award.  (Multiple documents may be submitted.)  NOMINATIONS ARE DUE JUNE 30, 2012.   CLICK HERE (pdf) for the nomination form.

Nominees will be asked to complete the PASA Awards application form and attach further information that will provide the judging panel with sufficient evidence to support their nomination.     

Recognition

The PASA Awards of Achievement are presented at the PASA/PSBA Annual Conference in Hershey each fall.
