2017-18 Webinar Schedule

October 25: Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent Contracts [COMPLETED]
Whether negotiating a new contract for a commissioned officer’s position or negotiating your next contract with your school board, it is important to be informed about the critical components within a sound contractual agreement.  Virginia Montgomery, Esq., PASA General Counsel, will provide information you need to know regarding legal requirements, practical considerations and negotiation strategies.

November 8: Superintendent Evaluations [COMPLETED]
The sustainability of a successful superintendent in a district requires the annual identification of the superintendent’s performance objectives and an effective evaluation system. The parts, considerations and value of a quality superintendent evaluation system will be presented by Virginia Montgomery, Esq., PASA General Counsel, who will discuss the statutory requirements and approaches for their practical application.

January 17: Collective Bargaining
The process for the negotiation of wages and other conditions of employment varies from district to district - and often can lead to adversarial relationships and negative media attention. While serving as the superintendent of the Lewisburg Area School District, Dr. Mark DiRocco, PASA Executive Director, assisted in the facilitation of several amicable agreements through non-traditional methods such as timed mediation and collaborative bargaining. He will discuss trends and options for successful collective bargaining.

February 21: Digital Learning
Schools across the Commonwealth are implementing personalized learning plans for staff and students using technological tools and digital content. This webinar will feature a panel discussion with members of PASA’s Technology Committee and others showcasing varied models that are working.

March 28: Pennsylvania's ESSA Implementation Plan
The implementation of the PA ESSA plan will impact schools across the Commonwealth. The long-term goals of the plan address academic proficiency, graduation rate, academic assessments - and more.  Representatives from the PDE and PASA will provide an overview of the plan to assist school leaders with implementation at the local level.
