AASA Discover Card Tribute Award Scholarship Program

 What is the Discover Card Tribute Award Scholarship Program?

Since 1991, the program, sponsored by Discover Card in cooperation with AASA, has awarded over $10 million dollars to more than 4,800 high school juniors who are all-around achievers both in their communities and their schools.  The award does not consider test scores or financial need.  The program provides up to nine $25,000 national scholarships and up to nine $2,500 scholarships in each state every year.

Applications are grouped for judging in three broad career areas: Arts & Humanities; Science, Business & Technology; and Trade & Technical.

Who should apply?

Juniors with a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA for the 9th and 10th grades, who are multi-talented, take the lead, have experienced significant challenges, who are giving back to their communities, and who plan to continue their education/training beyond high school in any accredited training, licensing or certification program or institution of higher education.  Students must be enrolled in and will be graduating from an accredited public or private high school in the United States.

What do the judges look for?

Judging is based on outstanding achiievements in many areas.  Applicastions should demonstrate accomplishments in three criteria areas: special talents, leadership and community service.
