Aspiring to Leadership Workshop

Having strong, effective leaders are essential in supporting and navigating the needs of public schools.  If you are considering a move into the Superintendency or Assistant Superintendency, this Workshop is a must!

If you are a current Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent, please help in filling the educational leadership pipeline by forwarding this PASA workshop announcement to those in your district who should consider the Superintendency or Assistant Superintendency.  

The PASA Aspiring to Leadership Workshop will be facilitated VIRTUALLY on Friday, February 3, 2023.  This Workshop addresses topics essential to understanding the leadership roles of the Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent.  Participants will be able to attend all three Parts, or those that are applicable.
  • Part 1: 10– 11:15 a.m. – Aspiring to the Superintendency
  • Part 2: 11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. – Preparation and Search Process
  • Part 3: 1 – 2:15 p.m. – Aspiring to the Assistant Superintendency

Part 1:  Dr. Brian Troop, the 2023 PA Superintendent of the Year and Superintendent of the Ephrata Area District and Dr. Sherri L. Smith, Executive Director at PASA, will inspire your next step along your career path at 10 a.m.  Other current and former superintendents and assistant superintendents with demonstrated expertise will share information regarding leadership; an overview of the key responsibilities; leading school boards and cabinets; preparation; transition; work life fit, and more.
