Committee Positions

PASA has four at-large committees, known as standing operating committees. Members of the standing operating committees, which generally include up to nine individuals, serve three-year terms and are appointed by the PASA President from among those who submit their statements of interest. Newly appointed members would begin serving on October 1, 2018, the start of PASA’s new membership year.


*Those who hold the following PASA memberships are eligible to serve in these positions: Commissioned Officer, Small District Leader, District Cabinet/Central Office, Associate or Professor. 

*Those appointed to a position must maintain PASA membership, be committed to serving the entire three-year term, and actively serve as a school administrator or college professor during their term in office.

Three positions (3) on each committee, with term ending Sept. 30, 2021 (except where noted)

Elections Committee
Provides oversight of the election of PASA officers and Pennsylvania delegates to the AASA Governing Board.  The committee is also responsible for hearing and resolving any complaints or appeals regarding results of any PASA election. 

Professional Development Committee
Designs and develops professional development programs and activities for the Commissioned Officers and other educators based upon needs identified by members. 

Research & Development Committee
Supports and promotes research on emerging issues which have the potential to improve public education. The committee also promotes and coordinates the PASA Research Fellows program, which supports and encourages educational leadership doctoral students from around the Commonwealth to pursue research in areas of interest to PASA members. (In addition to three available three-year positions, PASA is seeking one individual to complete an unexpired term ending Sept. 30, 2019.)

Technology Committee
Develops programs and strategies that improve the knowledge and skills of PASA members in the use of technology that will improve their efficiency and effectiveness as chief school administrators.
