About the Board

The PASA Board of Governors provides leadership and oversight for the Association, guiding policy, membership engagement, and organizational direction.

Board Composition

Executive Officers

  • President
  • President-Elect/Secretary
  • Immediate Past President
  • Treasurer

Regional Representatives

One representative from each of PASA’s 29 regions, serving staggered three-year terms, with eligibility for re-election.

Committee & Caucus Leaders

  • Chairs of PASA committees
  • Presidents of PASA caucuses (or their designees)

AASA Representation

Pennsylvania members serving on the AASA Executive Committee or Governing Board.

Affiliated Organizations

One representative from each PASA-affiliated organization, such as PIAA, EasyProcure, and PLGIT.

Meetings

  • At least four meetings per year (typically September, November, January, April)
  • One meeting may be held during the PASA Annual Meeting
  • Special meetings may be called by the President or when requested by one-third of Board members

What the Board Does

  • Manages PASA’s organizational affairs
  • Acts as the Membership Committee for the Association
  • Promotes membership and communicates with members across regions
  • Shares updates on superintendent and leadership changes with the PASA office

Role of Board Members

  • Help shape and communicate PASA policy
  • Share PASA activities and updates with leaders in their Intermediate Units
  • Inform PASA of superintendent and administrative leadership changes
  • Provide IU updates at each Board meeting
  • Encourage PASA membership among colleagues
  • Meet with newly appointed or newly arrived superintendents to offer support and PASA information
  • Ensure their IU has a process to fill:
    • Board of Governors regional representative positions
    • PASA statewide standing committee seats (Legislative and Advocacy)
