Membership
PASA offers both professional membership and sponsorship/business membership. Each provides a variety of unique benefits.
PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP - PASA and AASA
Professional membership is open to school administrators, those seeking positions in school administration and supporters of public education. PASA partners with our national association, the American Association of School Administrators (AASA), to offer high-value membership for school system leaders. It is now more important than ever for school leaders to have the tools and support they need to ensure school district and student success. PASA membership, along with AASA membership, is a direct, practical and high-value investment toward that goal. Both provide extensive benefits for school administrators and those supporting public education, including:
Up-to-date, targeted information: A full range of information, from legislative updates, analysis and special reports, to both a state and national perspective on education trends and research. Through the PASA web site, electronic updates and printed publications, PASA provides to members targeted information vital to the leaders of Pennsylvania’s most important public institutions – our schools. AASA provides members with a wide range of information on advocacy, leadership and public education, by email, through its monthly publication, The School Administrator, and on its website.
Advocacy: Representing the needs of school administrators before the General Assembly, the Department of Education, the State Board of Education and other policy makers both here and, in working with AASA, in Washington as well. We seek to influence public policy in charting a course for education that both meets the needs of our students and is sensitive to the needs of local communities. AASA is widely recognized as the only association representing the interests of school administrators in Washington.
High-quality professional development programs : The only organization that provides programs targeted specifically to meet the needs of superintendents and school administrators – and focused on both effective organizational management and leadership. Members receive a special reduced rate for these high-quality programs, another membership plus. AASA offers a wide range of professional development opportunities, from virtual seminars to national conferences, all targeted to meet the professional needs of school system leaders.
Support: Assisting members with advice about employment-related issues and providing members who are Commissioned Officers with legal support, including contract development assistance. PASA also provides a Career Center for job postings. AASA provides support resources for school administrators, including professional liability insurance AND legal defense support of up to $20,000, depending on consecutive years of membership.
